weekend at yucaipa, ca

just got back from the camping. it was fun and a breather from city life. though the weather was not as cold as last year, it was still okay. the only drawback was the bed. it was not as comfy and with a toddler in tow, a single size bed is not the ideal bed size for us. but heck, when you go camping, you have to leave some comforts you only experience in your own home.

the best part of it all is seeing my son having a wonderful time running, playing and laughing around with the rest of the children. he was an energizer bunny all through out and would only go to sleep when he sees that all the kids are off to bed. and he would wake up when he hears the bell ringing and would start to bug us to get up so he could go playing again.

hay...i wish to win the lotto para i can just play with my son the whole day...

oh...and we're really tired from all the uphill walk while pushing a stroller...pupulikatin ata ako =(

bought this camera yesterday. but before we did, dell had to do a lot of research, comparison and convincing that this camera is worth its bucks. we headed to costco and checked it out, umikot-ikot muna kami ng mga 3 beses before we really decided to buy it.

we have 2 compact digicams and we love it for being handy. we can take photos anytime, anywhere but for someone who loves to scrap, it is sometimes disappointing to see the photo you thought would look great once printed is not as clear and vivid as you expect it to be. this is sometimes frustrating because you cannot go back and recapture the moment because the quality of the photo failed you.

and since we are a family who loves the outdoors and are all camwhores, we decided to invest on this expensive digital camera. here are some test shots we did this morning. some are not as clear as we are still learning its different features. and to see more sample photos taken by the Nikon d40x, click here.

igi's sick again

actually it started yesterday. my sitter called me in the office requesting if igi can be picked up since he's having a bad case of diarrhea. i finished my work and in half an hour i was heading home. my poor son, pooping so frequent and he wouldn't eat anything except his pedialyte freezer pops and spoonful of rice.

then this morning, i had to wake up at 6am to call one of the costco warehouses in the northeast to check if my shipment made it on time for my roadshow and alas! only 1 made it and the other 3 that was coming from a different location are missing. aaaargh! and would you believe that a few minutes after i put down the phone my officemate Denise was calling me and telling me that our boss MK called them up at the same time i was on the phone with the receiving manager and asking them what happened to the 3 pallets. so from then on, i was on the phone with Costco, my broker and Denise and Ivan at 6am! talk about dedication to work and this is not even paid.

at around 7:45am, i called my boss and let him know that i can't come to work because my son is sick. i was even ready to listen to his sermon about reliability and no room for flexibility if cases like this arise. but surprisingly, he was nice and just talked to me about the costco mishap and what we should do. but of course, once we put the phone down, i don't know what he's gonna say to my officemates.

good thing i was able to get a schedule with Inigo's new doctor so she could check him up and see what's wrong with him. at 10:45am we were in the doctor's office and we're glad that the Dr. L assured us that it's nothing serious and we should just give him the BRAT diet (banana, rice, applesauce and toast) to stop the diarrhea and she also advised us to continue breastfeeding Inigo and not to introduce the bottle anymore as it may cause more trouble when it comes to weaning him.

after the doctor's appointment, we decided to have lunch at tony roma's to take advantage of our discount coupon. i had the full slap again and a glass of ice cold strawberry lemonade...tsalap!

well, at least everything is fine now with my son, the diarrhea has lessened and that he's starting to eat again. for now, that's what matters most.

actually, i've posted this entry on my multiply account so i'm just gonna do a cut and paste.

here goes...

1. when i like something (be it a blouse or shirt, shoes, bags or fashion accessories) i buy all the colors. i don't care if i won't be able to wear it right way basta happy ako na i have all the colors.
2. i cannot drink coke or any other soda without ice....it has to be lots of I-C-E!!!
3. i'm not really a movie-goer - i have to be all psyched to watch a movie or else i wouldn't enjoy it.
4. i love starbuck's - i reward myself every friday for a week worth of hard labor at work (kahit my boss refuses to recognize it).
5. i sleep on the right side of the bed.
6. i brush my teeth 3-4 times a day.
7. i hate hate hate cockroaches, snakes and anything that crawls...it gives me nightmares!

just some updates again...

i'm still using my old laptop. thank god that he's still hanging on...been dreading the day that he'll just die on me one day so i'm putting a limit to my usage just to keep him alive a little longer. =)

anyhoo, mother's day came and went and we didn't have a major celebration but it was a good one. sunday morning when i woke up i saw a card by the door and when i opened it - it was a card made by inigo's boobysitter. it had my son's photo and with a greeting of "happy mother's day and that I am the best mom!" it surely brought smile to my face and made my day.

then we just went swimming in the afternoon at dell's cousin's house in anaheim hills. inigo had fun swimming with his floaters on. his dad didn't hold him at all and he just kept swimming on his own. we're hoping that he would learn how to swim soon. i wanted to take photos of him but unfortunately, i forgot to take the battery from the charges so just imagine my dismay when i found out that i didn't have the battery on. busit! lost some precious moments tuloy. then after 2 hours, we headed home to rest and freshen up but then we got lazy and just decided to stay home since obviously all restaurants would be full being mother's day. dell promised to take me to dinner on thursday since it's his PTO.

we had dinner at tony roma's...enjoyed my full slab baby back ribs!

might be quitting my work soon. i cannot work for someone who has a very unstable mind (not the psychotic type). i have given him loyalty and proved him that i am reliable and yet he still doesn't trust me. i have sacrificed a lot just to satisfy him and yet it's not enough. that's all i can give to him...if he wants more then i'm sorry...i'm a mother first and foremost and my children is my top priority.

i would blog about this some other time when i am in a better state of mind because i am upset and disgusted with his management style.

oh my....my daughter would be starting college in a few days and she'll be going to benilde (just like mommy). i can still remember the time where i would take her to benilde when i need to get my grades or to enroll. she would just play in the plaza or sometimes just sit in one of the tables to wait for me...and now she would be walking the same hallways i've walked on for 3.5 years.

my non-posting...yes i still have the same excuse and my laptop seems to be dying on me soon so i'm busy transferring all important stuff to a harddrive.

but i'll be back soon...with a vengeance and hopefully with a new laptop =)

mga friends...nagpaparamdam lang at baka isipin nyo e wala na akong gana mag-blog. busy lang talaga ang beauty ko sa trabaho at pag-aalaga ng anak ko na ubod na ng kulit! syempre, acceptable ang excuse ko davah? heniwei, just some updates on me - natuloy na rin sa wakas ang pinagkaplano-plano naming EB for the SoCal n@wies. although 5 only made it, it was still fun to see familiar faces and finally meeting Agnes and Wil Lacambra and Marla Rausch (na super slim!) and special thanks to Marife who flew pa from Arizona just for that affair. sayang the other couldn't make it but we can always plan another one since Sam will be staying muna here in the US. here are some of the photos taken...
