an earthquake and a car collision

we were busy washing the dishes when Paul called our attention if there was an earthquake. and in a split second, we felt the earth shaking and i grabbed Igi and we all rushed out of the house. it really scared the hell out of me because it reminded me of the 1990 earthquake in the Philippines. i was in Tarlac and 5 months pregnant with my daughter. it gave me nightmares and sleepless nights and took a while before i overcame that dreadful experience.

we tried calling all our loved ones that were already out of the house and what do you expect? all networks busy!!! aaargh!

and after we've calmed down and as i was enjoying my late lunch, i heard a loud crash and a scream just outside our house. and there right in front of us was a car collision - a c350 MB and a Honda CRV. in a few minutes, the ambulance came followed by the cops. it wasn't as bad as it looked because both drivers were unscathed but obviously they were shaken from the experience.

ACED it!

i just have to blog this since i consider this as a major accomplishment. i finally took my behind-the-wheel driving test last monday. i didn't have to wait long as i got an appointment online but the only thing that pissed me off was letting us wait outside in the test lane under the sweltering summer sun. and after 20 minutes of waiting, the dmv "tester" or whatever you call it finally stepped out of the building and started the routine.

  • left signal light - check
  • right signal light - check
  • emergency park lights - check
  • windshield defroster - check
  • back defroster - check
  • brakes - check
  • wiper - check
  • headlights - check
  • emergency brakes - uh oh....what the hell was that?
oh well, i still got away with it and we proceeded with the actual driving test. she asked me to start on the engine and we drove around the area for a good 10 minutes. her comment was "i am a very safe driver, but i just have to make sure that i look over my shoulders whenever i change lanes because of the blind spots but overall i am a good driver."

good job olive....now i want a car!!! =)

i survived the first day...

of kickboxing yesterday! i didn't expect that i could even finish the 1 hour workout but surprisingly i did! although i almost gave up during the warm up session because i was getting dizzy and having heart palpitations. but the instructor was kind enough (not to mention he's got a super duper buffed body) to let me take a break and catch up with my breathe.

after 10 minutes of breathing exercise, i felt better and started the session and wow! who would have thought that i had the strength to kick ass. i could have kicked harder but i didn't want to push myself because i knew i would be sore this morning and good thing Dell was so nice to give me a massage last night.

true enough my calves are hurting!!! but this would not stop me from finishing the 10 sessions remaining. and the best part is i get to go with a bunch of young people that gives me encouragement that i could do it so it contributes to my determination to complete the session. plus of course i've been wanting to lose weight for the longest time but just didn't have the time to do it. now i don't have an excuse not to do it =)

not bad for an out-of-shape momma....

libre ang mangarap

and in english we call it daydream and according to the online dictionary it means:

: a pleasant visionary usually wishful creation of the imagination

and it's free so when dell and i daydream (which is often) we talk about what vehicle to buy if we have the money and our top 3 picks are the following:

1) Mercedes Benz G500 (in white)

2) Range Rover Sport (in black or silver)

3) Volvo XC90 (in white)

well, if our dedication and perseverance to our home-based business pays-off, then we will be bringing one of these babies home.

can't wait!!!
