Christmas Wishlist

it's the time of the year again where we make a list of things we want to receive this Christmas regardless if we've been good or bad. well, for the most part of the year, i know i've been good but had some occasional bouts of kamalditahan.

so one night, the girls asked me what's on my wishlist and i knew right away what i wanted and of course only if it's possible.

so i'm listing 5 items on my wish list...

1) i'm still eyeing the 20" iMac. we were about to buy it 2 months ago but decided not to since we don't really see the need for it. it's not on top of our priorities. but maybe when we have extra money then we will consider it.

2) the Kitchen Aid Artisan Series stand mixer in Red. i had one back in the Philippines that was passed on to me by my grandfather. i want to go back to baking and this will really make my life easier. i want to try my hand in baking cupcakes and maybe make it a business on the side (just like my friend M who's doing it in OZ). life is hard nowadays and we have to think of ways to make extra income.

3) a Nikon Coolpix S60 that I can grab for those spur of the moment gimmicks. it's such a hassle to lug around my nikon d40x. i prefer using it during out of town trips or if we want to take nice scenic shots.
4) Making Memories Slice cordless cutting tool - this is the latest buzz in the scrap world and i really want to get one since die-cuts are getting obsolete (i think). and it doesn't help that the handle of my big shot broke and even with a spare handle, the damage is more than that. =(

and last but not the least is...

5) a craft/working space where i can store all my scrap materials within reach...i've amassed so many scrap stuff but haven't really done any LOs because of lack of space. i just need one blank wall to convert it to my working space. i will get the materials from IKEA as it is a lot cheaper there. i just need to save up for it. unfortunately i couldn't find a photo close to how i want it to look like but as soon as i'm done with it, i'll definitely post some photos of it.

these are just things i wish i get on christmas but if i don't then it's fine. to tell you honestly, i just want peace of mind and good health for all of us since no material things can top that.

so, if you've been good...care to share your wishlist? who knows, santa might be watching us =)

another fire

well, there are brush fires happening on different parts of Southern California...few days ago, Montecito was ravaged by fire and some multi-million dollar homes were lost.

last night, as we were driving home at the 101, i noticed a blazing orange on my right side and realized there was a brush fire again in the angeles national forest and as soon as we got home, we turned the tv on to see which area is affected and found out it was Sylmar. sad to know that hundreds of mobile homes were already burned. firemen are having a hard time containing the fire because of the unpredictable wind directions. and as of this writing, wind is still blowing.

not only that, three more areas are having brush fires - Corona, Palos Verdes and Yorba Linda. and as i've blogged earlier, i hope these fires were not started by fire-tripping souls who had no regard for other people's lives and properties. times are hard nowadays, people are losing their jobs, but losing your home?

seriously...=(

my space saver bags

i've been wanting to write about this item but never got the chance and it's not that i was busy, i just totally forgot about it. i was going through my closet this morning when i saw them tucked neatly in one of the corners that i remembered about wanting to blog about them.

anyways, these super saver vacuum bags were one of my staples when we were packing for the big move. i didn't want to put our clothes, towels and bed linens in big boxes as they are harder to move even with a dolly. luckily, during one of our trips in costco, they were selling the value pack so i got 2 packs and it made packing our clothes so easily. and the best part is you can vacuum seal them so it really saves you up on space.

unfortunately, they're not available at costco anymore but you can still find them at bed bath & beyond and amazon.com.

my li'l igi presley

this year, Igi dressed up as Elvis Presley. we wanted to get him the wig but he didn't want anything on his head so we just drew sideburns instead. we went trick or treating at Topanga Mall and he had a grand time going from one store to another to get some candies. not all stores gave candies though, they gave away stickers.

after 1 1/2 hours of going around and with a pail full of treats, we decided to call it a night. we headed to D cousin's house at Porter Ranch for bible study. while the adults were busy with the group discussion, the kids were occupied finishing up their treats.

Adoring Carmine

so when my friend G emailed me about Nordstrom's exclusive special on these brushes, I ordered it right away since these brushes go in a flash. i bought the eye brush set online and picked it up today and on our way out, i sweet talked D to buy me the other 2 sets.

obviously, he couldn't say no..... =)

yesterday

was my last day at work. since the economy is unstable, the plan to open a branch in the east coast is put to a halt. they have to downsize and since i'm the newest one to join the company i am also the first to go. no hard feelings on my part since i haven't really invested anything on the company. i only work 2x a week for a maximum of 5 hours.

so, i'm back to being a SAHM, tending the house and taking care of Igi.

this is what i love doing.

this is what i do BEST.
