day 10: bonding time

we headed to fullerton as soon as dell got out of work to avoid traffic. we got there around 7pm and decided to meet up with maridel & tray at our favorite japanese resto in la mirada. forgot to take photos as i was too hungry already but i enjoyed my beef teriyaki and dragon roll.

after dinner, we proceeded to tina's place (we were sleeping over) for some bonding time. they had a dvd marathon again while igi and i went to bed early since we had to get up early for sunday service.

day 9: pwede na pagkakitaan

we went with Dell to watch his recording of his VO audition and in between breaks Igi would play with the earphones and microphone and pretend to be doing a VO too. he even sang "twinkle twinkle little star" and asked his ninong to replay it for him but unfortunately Ninong R forgot to record it.

ilang taon na lang...pwedeng pwede na. =)

day 8: high blood

so after our dental appointment and late lunch at chipotle, we went to CVS Pharmacy to get my prescription and the photos i had printed. and while waiting, i decided to get my BP since it's free. i was in shocked to see the reading. it says 132/82 so i am on the "pre-hypertension" bracket. no wonder i've been having headaches for a couple of days.

for the first time in 40 years (and i'm proud to post my age) this is the highest BP readings i've had. then it started to sink in on me that i am aging...=( sad to say, no matter what thinking we have about reaching 40, whether it's all in the mind or it's just a number, it also is a wake up call for most of us to watch our health as we have probably lived half of our life and we are on our final stage.

it scared the hell out of me...for a moment i was speechless and felt numb. then i thought of my kids and Dell and our many plans in the years to come. sounds dramatic but this is when you suddenly realize that life is indeed short so i better take care of myself and make sure that i live a longer and healthier life for my kids.

time to re-assess our lifestyle - we're not going on a diet because it never works. we just need to eat right.

day 7: just an ordinary day

didn't do anything extraordinary today...just the usual house chores..and just took some photos of Inigo while he was too engrossed watching his morning cartoon shows.

but then he noticed that i was taking his photo...

so he gave me this cute smile...

and holding on to his 2 ringpops like there's no tomorrow...

day 6: pill popping mom

i've had my headache for 3 days now and as much as i don't want to take any pills, i'm forced to pop one today because i need to bring my son for his doctor's checkup.

Dell handed me the Advil and convinced me to take one when it's time for us to go to the appointment. it did releive the pain but not until i got home around 4:30pm.

now i'm thinking of popping one again because i can't take the throbbing pain. this time he told me to take the Tylenol PM so that i could sleep well. i hope this time it works.

i guess i also need to see my eye doctor soon.=(

day 5: starting early

i knew i had to get this the moment i saw it. and i knew too that this would make a perfect birthday gift for a dear friend of mine even though her birthday is in March. i also plan to get her a Hello Kitty wrap towel since she loves Hello Kitty and anything pink.

though it's too early to be buying gifts i think it's better to start early than buying them on the last minute. at least it gives me enough time to look around to find the perfect gift. =)

day 4: hard habit to break

another new year's resolution we made for this year is to attend church service every Sunday. so we woke up early today to attend the 11am service and we could feel that it's going to be a good year for all of us.

after the service there is always lunch served in the fellowship hall where everyone can mingle and catch up with each other. it's always good to be surrounded by friends who are real and true to their words.

after lunch, we all headed home since the girls have work and needed to change. so after changing to casual clothes, we took the girls to their work and Dell, Igi and I decided to walk around the mall and do some shopping since Dell is going home to the PI this February.

we had one store in mind - Bath & Body Works since they're having their semi-annual sale. we bought colognes, lotions and lip tints to give away as pasalubongs to his nieces.

we then proceeded to Starbuck's to get coffee since the weather's really getting cold. this is one habit i'm trying to take out of my system. to cut my Starbucks intake to just once a week. i've been having Starbucks CM almost everyday last year because of this crazy weather of ours. a steaming venti caramel macchiatto's the best way to keep me warm but dang! they're a bit pricey too if you have it everyday.

i really need to cut down on this! =(
