Day 009 - division of labor

when i used to work, Dell & I would always have an argument about household chores. and most of the time he gets away with it.

until today...

i came home to see our 3-week load of laundry's been washed and folded.

Day 008 - 1st quiz

guess i did well...not bad! =)

oh...and i finally can relate why they say AVATAR is a must-see movie on IMAX 3D. but the best part was we got in for FREE! =)

Day 007 - you are my daily inspiration

i've never felt this mentally tired for the longest time. and as soon as i got home i knew i needed to get some sleep. you looked in my eyes and asked how my class went? i answered you that it went fine. then you asked again if i was tired? i said "yes and and you told me to go to sleep and you will watch me then you gave me a big hug and a big kiss. what you said just made my teary eyed. i may have been raising you well to be so very sensitive of your surroundings, caring for the people who love you dearly and very understanding for the little neglects i've done to you.

i had a good power nap knowing that you were just next to me, trying to be as quiet as possible, careful not to wake me up.

and once i started studying again, you kept me company by amusing yourself with you Thomas trains.

thank you Igi for being so understanding of mommy at your very tender age of 4. all these sacrifices are for you because i want to give you the best future i could give.

you are my daily inspiration.

Day 006 - Lab Skills

today was our first day in lab skills and the first chapter covered proper hand washing, proper wearing of gown, mask and gloves.

i aced the proper hand washing test (didn't know there were techniques on how to properly dry your hands) and almost won the challenge on the proper way to wear sterile gloves. my professor was rooting for me but the other challenger talked to me that it broke my concentration...=( i wanted to win the challenge to get the extra 5 points at the end of the semester.

oh well....but at least i made a good impression! =)

Day 005 - one of the books

this is my Anatomy & Physiology book and we covered 2 chapters today. the subject is interesting but i am not excited about the Physiology part. my professor talked about it lengthily and my mind just went black.

i will understand it next meeting!

Day 004 - first day of school

was up by 5:30am today to give myself enough time to get ready. and before i left for school, D insisted to take a photo of me in my uniform - i feel so clean because of our all-white uniform policy.

and i was the first one to arrive in our class and survived it!

sweet!

dinner time, i grilled some tuna and steamed some veggies and sauteed some garlic bits. they wanted to start eating healthy daw.

Day 002 - meeting up with friends

some of Dell's hs schoolmates are in town so we met up with them at Old Town Pasadena. they wanted to have fine dining so we met up at Santorini. after dinner, we headed to Starbucks at Barnes & Noble to get access to free wi-fi so they could view some of the photos taken during the homecoming since all of them (except for Dell) didn't get to go home.

yup! i broke my 365 days resolution. i tried but i failed...but i captured most of the memories in photos so let the photos speak for itself.

oh well...

but it doesn't mean i won't write about our happenings - so let me start about how my weekend went.

May 9, Saturday

it was Lula's (our hs batchmate) bridal shower. yup, she's finally getting hitched after ?? years of waiting for the perfect guy. i could still remember the day where she almost resigned to the fact that she was destined to be single forever but all of us disagreed with her. we told her to stop looking and waiting and let HIM do the works....this was in 2007.

@ Lula's house in Fullerton

along the way, we all kept in touch and later on heard that she met someone and have been dating him on a regular basis. we were all happy for her and wishing that he is the man. we finally got the chance to meet him on our annual Christmas party held at Meg's house in 2007.

Larry & Lula

fast forward to our annual christmas party (2008), Lula was game enough to share with us how Larry finally popped the question to her and all of us listened intently and screamed like HS girls with the kilig moments.

and last Saturday was her bridal shower organized by her sisters, Pinky and Bedj (both Kulasas but different batches). aside from our wedding gifts, we gave her a Honeymoon Survival Kit which we hope she would use.

Congratulations Larry & Lula...may your marriage be blessed with Love, Respect, Trust and a lot of humor.

May 10, Sunday

church day as usual so we were up early. had lunch at the fellowship hall and stayed a little longer for a meeting. again, i would be joining the choir for a presentation on June 28. after the meeting, we headed to Americana to meet up with Dell's good friend, Joey and his wife Len.

but it was only Joey who went with us because Len opted to stay and bond with her sister who she hasn't seen for a while. so we all headed home. CT and MP came too to see Joey and had dinner at Stonefire again.

and BR followed pero in the house na lang and they all stayed till around 1am.

so that's how our weekend went...=)

geez, i just realized that i've neglected this blog for so long. with my parents and pat around a couple of weeks back had been very chaotic but F-U-N! i only get to see them once a year so i savor every moment and try to capture everything in pictures.

you see we've been going to places and have in fact gone to 2 vacations spots - mammoth for some snow and san francisco for some sightseeing. my Dad's request was to go see Alcatraz and so we did.

anyways, i still have so many backlogs so i will work on my postings one at a time.

in the meantime, i'm back to packing as it's time to say adieu to this house and start life anew. it's a long story and hopefully will have time to post about it too.

life is still good inspite of all the stress...still thankful for everything no matter what.

i promise to be active again once my load has lighten up a bit.

week 11

March 16, Monday

i assembled the Antonius shelving unit so i could start my spring cleaning. and of course Inigo wanted to help as soon as he saw that there was a small wrench included in each unit. i let him work on it and i grabbed my camera and snapped away while he tried to figure out how to tighten the wheels.

cute no? but after a while he was getting frustrated na and asked me to finish it. hahaha

March 17, Tuesday

just at home since i couldn't go anywhere.

oh and i cooked salpicao again for dinner. so Dell and Igi happily ate their food while watching American Idol. Adam's interpretation was kinda off for tonight's theme but nevertheless left an impression or as they say a number to remember/talk about.

March 18, Wednesday

Dell's off from work and so his morning was spent golfing with his cousins. what else is new? then in the afternoon, we headed to Marshall's to look for some throw blankets for our bedroom. my parents would be staying with us and we want them to be as comfortable as possible. and i want to make our bedroom look inviting at baka masermonan ako. unfortunately, i didn't see anything nice. i knew it! i should have bought the RL throw i saw few weeks ago. aaaargh!!! i never learned! oh well, we can always try the other Marshall's in the area.

March 19, Thursday

my good friend Ed, dropped by and invited us for dinner. we went to a Thai restaurant by Ventura Blvd. too bad, i didn't bring my camera with me. i never expected the place to have a nice set up. the place is cozy and clean and their food is reasonably priced and tasted good too. i just didn't get to enjoy it that much because i am still in my no rice-no soda-no starbucks stage.

March 20, Friday

laundry - DONE
get water - DONE
clean bedroom - DONE
do grocery - DONE
cook dinner - DONE
fold clothes - DONE
give Inigo a bath - DONE

need i say more? so much for the saying Thank God It's Friday huh?

March 21, Saturday

it's my friend, Michelle's birthday party at O-bar in Cerritos. we had fun dancing to the 80's music and really didn't care if Dell was having a good time or not...he's such a KJ but i wouldn't let him ruin my night...=)

i'm out to have fun with my girlfriends!!!

March 22, Sunday

it's church day so we were up early again. lunch was served after service so we hang out a bit to catch up with our churchmates. we weren't able to attend the service last Sunday because Dell was having vertigo and my BP went up again so i was feeling dizzy. we left after an hour and i was too tired from last night's party so the moment we got home, Igi and i took a nap. i woke up with a very bad headache and started sneezing non-stop. i was having an allergy attack because of the weird weather. it's been hot a couple of days back and then Saturday, it started to get cold then became windy at night. aaaargh!!! i hate it because my head hurts, my nose bleeds from sneezing and i sometimes lose my sense of taste.

then Dell wanted to eat out so we braved the windy weather and headed to Pho So 1. we ordered our usual favorites and too bad i didn't get to take photos of our food since we were too hungry. but was able to take some while waiting for our food to be served.

there goes our week...and here's wishing you all a fun-filled week ahead of you.

week 9

first off, i want to apologize for the late posting. no, i didn't forget to blog about our lives. it's just that my betterhalf brought home a virus that affected my laptop. it's now as slow as Kuya Cesar. kainis!

anyhoo here goes,

March 2, Monday

poor Dell! he went to work already and let's just hope that he doesn't fall asleep. i'm pretty sure he'll have jetlag and i'm just worried that he falls asleep in the middle of work. anyways, i'm so excited with all his pasalubongs to me. but what i looked forward too are the products i asked him to buy from Ilog Maria. i've been hearing great reviews about their products so i can't wait to try them.

btw, i still haven't told him the "kalokohans" the 3rd daughter and the BF did while he was away. i've asked some opinions from my egroup and all of them said to tell Dell. and i will as soon as i find the perfect timing.

aaaargh!!! not telling him right away is eating me up...=(

and some sad news - Dell's friend has been given a week to live. he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year and unfortunately, the treatment didn't work anymore as it was too late.

March 3, Tuesday

ok...i hated it but i'll hate myself more if i don't fix it right away. so i went thru his luggage and made ligpit his clothes! dang! he bought so many shirts and all have patriotic designs. but what i liked most are the his and her shirts he got for us from Colleziones. ok naman kasi di niya ako nakalimutan.

dinnertime, i made sinigang na bangus since the weather's been super cold again and a hot soup is the best to fill our hungry stomachs. plus of course, i'm trying to stay away from meat. =)

anyway, before going to bed, i finally told Dell what happened while he was away and he was really upset. but surprisingly, he was very calm about it. though he texted the boyfriend not to show his face again in the house. honestly, it serves him well. don't get me wrong, the kid is ok but not the type you'll bring home to your parents. he's a slacker and relies on friends to drive him around. he's 18 and just got his DL but his parents still wouldn't want him to use their cars. WTF? so it's a major turn off for me when you ask your friend to take you to your GF's house to visit and pick you up after.

March 4, Wednesday

after work, Dell and I headed to his friend's house in Canyon Country to pay him a visit one last time. when we came, he was in the wheelchair as he just had his morphine shot. he's lost so much weight and sad to say, doesn't look good anymore. anytime, he could go and we were just thankful to see him even on his last days on earth.

friends, relatives and co-workers came to bid their goodbyes and tears were just flowing non-stop. i too shed some tears because i couldn't bear the thought of the kids losing their dad at a very young age.

i pray for his wife, Wena for strength and comfort and to never lose her faith on our Lord Almighty.

everything happens for a reason...

March 5, Thursday

same old...same old...except for some errands again. geez, i never really run out of errands to do.

i did the laundry too since the sun was up. well, i just washed Igi's clothes coz our laundry soap is almost gone.

then the usual mommy duties - fed, read books, played, watched his fave shows, gave him a bath and napped with my 3-year old son who never runs out of energy.

for some, it maybe boring but for me time spent with my son - Priceless...

and another sad news - Francis M - the master rapper has gone home to his Master.

March 6, Friday

after work, we (D, Me & Igi) headed to TGIFriday's for our weekly family dinner. it was crowded but we were glad to be seated in a cozy corner so we could have some quiet family conversations. Igi's talking a lot now and can actually converse with us. though he still needs some practice in correct pronunciation of words, it's still good to know that he now know what the word means.

he can also count in Spanish - this is what he learned from watching too much Dora. hahaha

and we ordered:

prime rib stroganoff, cedar-seared salmon pasta, cheese pizza & fries

red velvet cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert =)

and here are more pics i'd like to share...

March 7, Saturday

Dell worked today so we didn't really do anything much. and since he was up early, we decided to stay home and relax.

dinner consisted of leftovers so i didn't stress out on what to cook.

oh and at 2am, it's the start of DST...our hours are gonna be messed up again coz we're setting up our time to an hour in advance.

March 8, Sunday

i knew it!!! darn DST! we woke up thinking it was only 9am so we were taking our sweet time. then i realized that we forgot to set the clock in the bathroom. we all rushed so we could be out of the house by 10:45 to make it to the Sunday service on time.

Dell's 2 aunts attended the service so it sort of became a mini reunion for them. here's a photo taken after the service.
