January 12, Monday
Manic Monday - that's how I usually start my week. since this is the day I try to pick up whatever I've left off the previous week because I've told myself to relax on weekends - no cooking, no laundry, no chores!
so i started the day by dropping off Ychen at Pierce College at 1pm then headed straight to the lab clinic for Igi's blood test as prescribed by his new pedia. the drive was smooth, no traffic except for the heat. it's winter but i could feel my left arm getting burned from the sun.
and we finally got to the lab - filled out the paper work and started to prep Igi but as soon as he saw the needle, he freaked out and started to cry. we had no choice but to stop and wait for the senior nurse to do it plus we needed additional set of hands to steady Igi's arm. and after 15 mins of waiting the nurse came and did the procedure. i would have loved to take a photo but i needed to hold him tight. it was easy and fast but Igi cried so hard that it broke my heart coz I knew he was hurt. good thing i had a lollipop and it made him stop from crying. then we proceeded to Joann's by our place since it's having a clearance sale because the store is closing (that branch only since there are 3 joann's in our area within the 10M radius) to look for a damask cloth for my friend Bjay and was lucky to find this - it's called Duchess Damask by Waverly and got it for $50 for 4 yards and I am 1 happy shopper.

it was already 4pm so i headed back to Pierce College to pick up Ychen and then took her to the mall for her other job. by that time Igi was dead tired and had fallen asleep already. i headed home so that Igi could take his afternoon nap comfortably.
i was tired too and was in lala land the moment we hit the bed. =)

Let's do the Jenga
the girls are on winter break so they decided to have a barbecue and jenga night. They invited over some good friends to play with them. Paul barbecued some chicken and beef and that's what we had for dinner. i was not feeling well and obviously i forgot to take pics of the boys while barbecuing.
Igi was so fascinated with the Jenga blocks that he was playing with it for a good one hour. they had to bribe him just so he would give it back to his sisters. of course it wasn't easy...

so they let him play with it a little longer while they play poker.

January 14, Wednesday
Eating right / Starting early
since the BP scare, i've been watching what i put in my mouth and have been eating in moderation. so my lunch for today is halaan soup with baby bok-choy. surprisingly, i was full after one serving. maybe because i ate a lot of the baby bok-choy too.

after lunch, i did the laundry while my son was busy playing in the computer. his favorite site is the disney channel and is actually an expert in navigating the website....unbelievable!

then when Dell got home, i made him yaya to go to Marshall's to look for a bed sheet since I realized I only have 3 sets. and while looking around, I picked up some stuff that I will need in the future and Dell got this RL pajama set for only $10 since it's a christmas item and got a 50% off. so we decided to get another pair for his cousin as our gift for next christmas.

and not only that, i also found this cute Paul Frank girl panties selling for $7.99/ set vs the MSRP of $19.99 and got 2 sets to give to Lily for next Christmas too.

that's 2 names crossed out from my 2009 Christmas shopping list.
too much for starting early huh?
January 15, Thursday
it's Dell's day-off so naturally he spent half of the day playing golf. he played again at Robinson Ranch with his cousins. i insisted that he brings the digicam so they can take photos of each other while playing. and they did take a lot of photos. didn't know guys can be camwhores too =)

in the afternoon, we drove to Panorama to bring our balikbayan boxes. unfortunately, the carrier we've been using doesn't have any agents that picks up in the SFV so i'm actually thinking of doing it as a sideline. and since Goldilock's is in the same building of the drop-off point for our boxes, we decided to have dinner there to satisfy my craving for fresh lumpia.

and ordered dinuguan at puto as well...

there goes my D-I-E-T!

TGIF - guess what i found at the # tree store?
on my way to the nail salon to have my nails done, i decided to pass by the $ Tree store to kill time since i still have a good 20 mins before my 2pm appointment. and while looking around, i saw some stuff that i never bought in a regular retail store because of the price.

i love $ Tree because they sell stuff that you see in regular retail stores so whenever i go here, i never leave empty-handed. how could you resist not buying when you can only get it for $1 vs the regular price of $4.99, right? so after my short shopping spree, i headed to the salon for my mani-pedi. my feet are happy again. i chose this color for a change - it's on the burgundy shade which looks good on my toes.

January 17, Saturday
Family dinner
Dell had work so we were just at home the whole day. we were supposed to drive down to Fullerton but since my eyes are starting to act up again, we postponed our plan and just had dinner at where else? our fave restaurant - Stonefire Grill and ordered the same food - Chicken Ceasar Salad, Tri tip & ribs combo and half basket of their breadsticks.
and here are some photos we took while waiting for our food...

the pop-up giftwrap tape dispenser and tape strips by Scotch and bought 5 packs of the strips.
Fiskar scissors (and bought 2 of the No. 7 and 1 for kids since Igi loves to cut papers)
stamp pads (in blue, gree and purple) and 2 sets of glitter glue
and 3 tubes glue stick by Avery

a day in the park
spent the day with my friend Rea at her place and while watching a flip movie, Igi started getting restless and wanted to go out. Rea volunteered to take her to the park while i finished the movie and here are some photos she took.

watch out for my next entry and we would love to know how your week went too.
