didn't do anything extraordinary today...just the usual house chores..and just took some photos of Inigo while he was too engrossed watching his morning cartoon shows.

day 6: pill popping mom
i've had my headache for 3 days now and as much as i don't want to take any pills, i'm forced to pop one today because i need to bring my son for his doctor's checkup.
Dell handed me the Advil and convinced me to take one when it's time for us to go to the appointment. it did releive the pain but not until i got home around 4:30pm.
now i'm thinking of popping one again because i can't take the throbbing pain. this time he told me to take the Tylenol PM so that i could sleep well. i hope this time it works.
i guess i also need to see my eye doctor soon.=(

day 5: starting early
i knew i had to get this the moment i saw it. and i knew too that this would make a perfect birthday gift for a dear friend of mine even though her birthday is in March. i also plan to get her a Hello Kitty wrap towel since she loves Hello Kitty and anything pink.
though it's too early to be buying gifts i think it's better to start early than buying them on the last minute. at least it gives me enough time to look around to find the perfect gift. =)

day 4: hard habit to break
another new year's resolution we made for this year is to attend church service every Sunday. so we woke up early today to attend the 11am service and we could feel that it's going to be a good year for all of us.
after the service there is always lunch served in the fellowship hall where everyone can mingle and catch up with each other. it's always good to be surrounded by friends who are real and true to their words.
after lunch, we all headed home since the girls have work and needed to change. so after changing to casual clothes, we took the girls to their work and Dell, Igi and I decided to walk around the mall and do some shopping since Dell is going home to the PI this February.
we had one store in mind - Bath & Body Works since they're having their semi-annual sale. we bought colognes, lotions and lip tints to give away as pasalubongs to his nieces.
we then proceeded to Starbuck's to get coffee since the weather's really getting cold. this is one habit i'm trying to take out of my system. to cut my Starbucks intake to just once a week. i've been having Starbucks CM almost everyday last year because of this crazy weather of ours. a steaming venti caramel macchiatto's the best way to keep me warm but dang! they're a bit pricey too if you have it everyday.
i really need to cut down on this! =(

day 3: dinner with my CSB classmates
at long last, nagtugma-tugma ulit our schedules so natuloy din the dinner we've planned for the longest time. i just invited them over in our place since the weather's been really cold lately so it's cozier to be in a house.
it's potluck and i made pork ribs adobo, chicken sopas and kelsey's scallops. Trisha brought pork bbq, paul brought Hawaiian chicken and beef and Marycel took care of the sodas and dessert.
it was a night with lots of catching ups and full of laughter provided by the boys. we also had fun talking about old professors and classmates and i just realized how bad my memory was because i couldn't remember half of the people we were talking about. too bad they couldn't stay long - it was a long drive for some so the dinner ended at 11pm.

see you all again next month.

day 2: cramping on our movie night
i woke up feeling sluggish but i had to get up because Igi was asking for breakfast. good thing he just wanted to have some yogurt so i really didn't need to whip up something complicated. i plopped him on his breakfast table and played his current fave dvd which is "Little Einstein" while i tried to do some house chores but my back is killing me so i went back to bed to rest my back.
then after a few minutes, i felt something and knew that i was getting my period. what a way to start my year. =) that's why i feel so sluggish and then the cramps started to kick in and i am in P-A-I-N! i don't take pain reliever pills because i don't want to be a pill-popping mom so i'm just resting and blogging about how my day went so far while my little boy is asleep. but if the cramps doesn't go away by tomorrow, i might take some coz i want to enjoy the dinner with my friends.
earlier, i asked Dell if he could just go by himself to 99 ranch to buy the stuff i need for tomorrow's dinner with my CSB classmates and he readily agreed. and he said that he borrowed some new movies from his co-workers that we could watch over the weekend so tonight will be movie night for the family.

Igi woke up around 8:30pm in a grouchy mood! and this means he'll be sleeping late again. he wasn't in the mood to eat rice and just asked for cereals. here are some photos of him having cereals and enjoying watching Curious George.

day 1: new year, new beginnings
it's the first day of 2009 and i am hoping that this year will be a better year not only for me and my family but for everyone else.
and i guess like everyone else, i hope the newly-elected president will deliver the change he promised to America.
on a lighter note, we welcomed the new year quietly. we drove over to D's sister's place in Fullerton, had homemade mexican tacos for dinner and watched some dvds while waiting for the clock to strike 12. the kids were too tired to wait up so they were in bed by 10pm and so were we. well, we at least waited for 12mn, greeted each one a "happy new year!" chatted for a couple of minutes and after a while, we all retired for the night (we spent the night at Fullerton).
i guess we are really getting old...

~ o ~ o ~ o ~
i've made a new resolution - to capture our daily happenings in photos and write a short journal about it. i got this idea from 2 peas while browsing some projects posted by the members and liked the idea. but since i'm a slow scrapper, i decided to just blog about it and maybe turn it into a layout when given the time.
and here's what happened on the first day of the year.....
we all woke up around 9ish and since we were all too lazy to prepare breakfast, we all trekked to starbucks for our caffeine fix. i had my usual caramel macchiatto, Dell had his mocha drink and Igi had his all-time fave Horizon Organic Chocolate Drink and his animal crackers. after an hour of some family bonding, we headed home and played pictionary - girls vs boys and guess who won? hehehe
the kids got bored watching kung fu panda so they played outside. Igi enjoyed playing with the stones in Tina's garden. it's such a wonderful sight to watch my son having fun and getting his hands dirty since we don't have that luxury in our house now. well, we do have a big backyard but it's all cemented. =(
he played like crazy with all those vintage tonka toys - those solid metal tonka toys that could give you black and blue when you drop it on your feet. after a while, he biked, tried the scooter. and played ball. good thing i was able to capture these moments - for a while i had my senior moments again and forgot that i brought the camera with us.

at 3pm, he was ready to take his nap and slept till 4:30pm. when he woke up, he had yogurt for snacks and right after eating, we headed to our friends' house in Anaheim (Mike & Cream) to get the "food for the gods" that they made for us, konting kwentuhan and then we headed home.
the drive home was okay and no traffic so we decided to do a sidetrip at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and ordered some to go (1/2 chicken and deep fried chicken livers).
we were home at 7:30pm
