yup! i broke my 365 days resolution. i tried but i failed...but i captured most of the memories in photos so let the photos speak for itself.

oh well...

but it doesn't mean i won't write about our happenings - so let me start about how my weekend went.

May 9, Saturday

it was Lula's (our hs batchmate) bridal shower. yup, she's finally getting hitched after ?? years of waiting for the perfect guy. i could still remember the day where she almost resigned to the fact that she was destined to be single forever but all of us disagreed with her. we told her to stop looking and waiting and let HIM do the works....this was in 2007.

along the way, we all kept in touch and later on heard that she met someone and have been dating him on a regular basis. we were all happy for her and wishing that he is the man. we finally got the chance to meet him on our annual Christmas party held at Meg's house in 2007.

Larry & Lula

fast forward to our annual christmas party (2008), Lula was game enough to share with us how Larry finally popped the question to her and all of us listened intently and screamed like HS girls with the kilig moments.

and last Saturday was her bridal shower organized by her sisters, Pinky and Bedj (both Kulasas but different batches). aside from our wedding gifts, we gave her a Honeymoon Survival Kit which we hope she would use.

Congratulations Larry & Lula...may your marriage be blessed with Love, Respect, Trust and a lot of humor.

May 10, Sunday

church day as usual so we were up early. had lunch at the fellowship hall and stayed a little longer for a meeting. again, i would be joining the choir for a presentation on June 28. after the meeting, we headed to Americana to meet up with Dell's good friend, Joey and his wife Len.

but it was only Joey who went with us because Len opted to stay and bond with her sister who she hasn't seen for a while. so we all headed home. CT and MP came too to see Joey and had dinner at Stonefire again.

and BR followed pero in the house na lang and they all stayed till around 1am.

so that's how our weekend went...=)

week 9

first off, i want to apologize for the late posting. no, i didn't forget to blog about our lives. it's just that my betterhalf brought home a virus that affected my laptop. it's now as slow as Kuya Cesar. kainis!

anyhoo here goes,

March 2, Monday

poor Dell! he went to work already and let's just hope that he doesn't fall asleep. i'm pretty sure he'll have jetlag and i'm just worried that he falls asleep in the middle of work. anyways, i'm so excited with all his pasalubongs to me. but what i looked forward too are the products i asked him to buy from Ilog Maria. i've been hearing great reviews about their products so i can't wait to try them.

btw, i still haven't told him the "kalokohans" the 3rd daughter and the BF did while he was away. i've asked some opinions from my egroup and all of them said to tell Dell. and i will as soon as i find the perfect timing.

aaaargh!!! not telling him right away is eating me up...=(

and some sad news - Dell's friend has been given a week to live. he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year and unfortunately, the treatment didn't work anymore as it was too late.

March 3, Tuesday

ok...i hated it but i'll hate myself more if i don't fix it right away. so i went thru his luggage and made ligpit his clothes! dang! he bought so many shirts and all have patriotic designs. but what i liked most are the his and her shirts he got for us from Colleziones. ok naman kasi di niya ako nakalimutan.

dinnertime, i made sinigang na bangus since the weather's been super cold again and a hot soup is the best to fill our hungry stomachs. plus of course, i'm trying to stay away from meat. =)

anyway, before going to bed, i finally told Dell what happened while he was away and he was really upset. but surprisingly, he was very calm about it. though he texted the boyfriend not to show his face again in the house. honestly, it serves him well. don't get me wrong, the kid is ok but not the type you'll bring home to your parents. he's a slacker and relies on friends to drive him around. he's 18 and just got his DL but his parents still wouldn't want him to use their cars. WTF? so it's a major turn off for me when you ask your friend to take you to your GF's house to visit and pick you up after.

March 4, Wednesday

after work, Dell and I headed to his friend's house in Canyon Country to pay him a visit one last time. when we came, he was in the wheelchair as he just had his morphine shot. he's lost so much weight and sad to say, doesn't look good anymore. anytime, he could go and we were just thankful to see him even on his last days on earth.

friends, relatives and co-workers came to bid their goodbyes and tears were just flowing non-stop. i too shed some tears because i couldn't bear the thought of the kids losing their dad at a very young age.

i pray for his wife, Wena for strength and comfort and to never lose her faith on our Lord Almighty.

everything happens for a reason...

March 5, Thursday

same old...same old...except for some errands again. geez, i never really run out of errands to do.

i did the laundry too since the sun was up. well, i just washed Igi's clothes coz our laundry soap is almost gone.

then the usual mommy duties - fed, read books, played, watched his fave shows, gave him a bath and napped with my 3-year old son who never runs out of energy.

for some, it maybe boring but for me time spent with my son - Priceless...

and another sad news - Francis M - the master rapper has gone home to his Master.

March 6, Friday

after work, we (D, Me & Igi) headed to TGIFriday's for our weekly family dinner. it was crowded but we were glad to be seated in a cozy corner so we could have some quiet family conversations. Igi's talking a lot now and can actually converse with us. though he still needs some practice in correct pronunciation of words, it's still good to know that he now know what the word means.

he can also count in Spanish - this is what he learned from watching too much Dora. hahaha

and we ordered:

prime rib stroganoff, cedar-seared salmon pasta, cheese pizza & fries

red velvet cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert =)

and here are more pics i'd like to share...

March 7, Saturday

Dell worked today so we didn't really do anything much. and since he was up early, we decided to stay home and relax.

dinner consisted of leftovers so i didn't stress out on what to cook.

oh and at 2am, it's the start of DST...our hours are gonna be messed up again coz we're setting up our time to an hour in advance.

March 8, Sunday

i knew it!!! darn DST! we woke up thinking it was only 9am so we were taking our sweet time. then i realized that we forgot to set the clock in the bathroom. we all rushed so we could be out of the house by 10:45 to make it to the Sunday service on time.

Dell's 2 aunts attended the service so it sort of became a mini reunion for them. here's a photo taken after the service.

week 7

February 16, Monday

i wouldn't want to start my post with a not-so-good thing but that's just how my Monday started.

my BP is still high (but not as high) and i know i shouldn't be taking this in a stride. and for someone who is not a big fan of pills or meds for that matter, i went online and did some research on how to lower it down the natural way and preventive measures to avoid it from happening again. and sure enough, it's our diet that plays a big factor and exercise is only 20%.

well, i've been watching my food intake since Sunday and all i've been eating are greens that i smother with lots of garlic. i've also downed gazillion glasses of water just to flush out whatever's in my system and religiously took my supplements.

then in the evening, the eldest was sweet enough to give me a back massage when i told her that my back's been stiff like a wood since Saturday. and the massage helped a lot to relieve the stress and knots on my back.

i was able to get a good sleep. =)

February 17, Tuesday

finally! i felt much better when i woke up. and back to the old grind but this time with less stress from the house chores. i just did my usual mommy duties and i really appreciate my son for being such a good boy.

dinnertime, my friend R came over to check on me and brought roasted chicken from Costco. she knew that i've been eating greens since Sunday so she know that i was starving. i did eat a little just to satisfy my craving. then a little kwentuhan and she headed off. while igi and i watched American Idol then took a shower and off to bed.

February 18, Wednesday

i am still on greens and this is what i've been eating since Sunday.

i just add little zest to it - sometimes i add imitation crab with lots of tomatoes, onions and cilantro and a dressing of my choice, other days i just top it with lots of garlic sauteed in olive oil or pan-seared salmon and a little balsamic vinaigrette. i'm actually getting used to it and the best part is, i get full easily and i don't feel bloated.

hopefully, i win this battle that i've been having with my weight. i don't dream to get back to my 100lbs frame, just to be able to wear a simple light colored shirt without all my flabs bulging out is enough to make me feel good.

i can do it!!!!!!!!!!

February 19, Thursday

since i feel normal now, i took the opportunity to do all the errands i needed to do since last week. i did the grocery, bought igi's milk and fruits supply and then we went to marshall's to buy him some thomas trains toys i promised him for being a good boy while i was not feeling well. i also scored some cookbooks but after browsing through the pages i realized that the ingredients are just too complicated so i'm going to return them next week.

then we dropped by our YMCA and inquired about their various programs. i am thinking of joining so i can go to the gym while Igi can go to the daycare or maybe we can join some Mommy and Me activities. the weather's not been that cold so it's time to move our butts out and get some exercise. =)

then at dinner time, i decided to make pan-seared salmon for the girls since i haven't been cooking since i had that BP attack. i feel bad because they come home hungry from work or school and there's no food to eat.

at least they enjoyed the salmon.

February 20, Friday

ok i know this sounds boring now but unfortunately that's just how my week started and will end. not having Dell around plus my BP scare just made me want to take things slowly. so Friday is a slow day...TGIF! nothing much happened, just stayed home, cooked and watched TV.

boring huh?

February 21, Saturday

it's a ladies night out for me and my girlfriends. we celebrated all the Feb celebrants at R's place. we had filipino dishes since Tita Baby (Dette's mom) who's based in Michigan is in town. she seldoms get to taste flip dishes that's why we decided to make our handa all flip. it's potluck and we had pancit malabon, beef kaldereta, inihaw na baboy, fried chicken and fried tilapia. and for dessert, we had fruit salad and bibingka plus the birthday cake from Porto's.

the February celebrants

and we had to sing Happy Birthday to Igi because he was getting cranky

and he was very happy to blow all the candles

all girls plus 2 little boys

the food was so good but i was able to control myself. i only ate 1/2 cup of rice and was able to avoid the dessert. although i loved the sago't gulaman that Rea ordered and i think i downed 5 cups but followed it with lots of water. o diba, i justified it pa!

the party lasted till around 11pm. my gosh! we are really getting old. we cannot stay up late anymore. so Igi and I together with Michelle and Lizette headed home since they're spending the night in our place.

February 22, Sunday

i woke up at 8:30am since we all planned last night to go to Santee for some food tripping while Tita Baby shops. but Michelle has a bad headache so we ended up not going. and i went back to sleep.

then we all woke up at 11am and started to get ready so we could get some lunch. our first choice was A&W but there was a 45 minute wait so we ended up at LA Buffet. they have a wide range of choices and we actually enjoyed the food. well more like we pigged out. and after lunch, we headed to Topangan Mall to walk off the extra calories we gained from eating there.

first stop was Target's $ section. i got some cute tea light holders while Michelle and Lizette bought some St. Patrick's stuff. i asked them where are they going to use it and they said they're going make a video again wearing those silly accessories. well, it's something to watch out for...

second stop was Bibi's store and we checked out their latest stuff. and they're now carrying pink accessories just in time for spring.

third stop was Nordstrom's for some make ups. aaargh! we all ended up buying something for ourselves. i bought MAC's mineral blush in Dainty. well, i've been wanting to get one anyways.

and finally, we went back to Target since Lizette wants to purchase a new vacuum. geez,, she's one picky shopper. we actually spent a good 30 minutes just trying to figure out which vacuum to get. well, she ended getting her first choice. thank goodness!

then we all headed home for the OSCARS!

day 3: dinner with my CSB classmates

at long last, nagtugma-tugma ulit our schedules so natuloy din the dinner we've planned for the longest time. i just invited them over in our place since the weather's been really cold lately so it's cozier to be in a house.

it's potluck and i made pork ribs adobo, chicken sopas and kelsey's scallops. Trisha brought pork bbq, paul brought Hawaiian chicken and beef and Marycel took care of the sodas and dessert.

it was a night with lots of catching ups and full of laughter provided by the boys. we also had fun talking about old professors and classmates and i just realized how bad my memory was because i couldn't remember half of the people we were talking about. too bad they couldn't stay long - it was a long drive for some so the dinner ended at 11pm.

see you all again next month.
